I have loved to write for as long as I can remember. It may sound crazy but I love words and I especially love using very descriptive ones to express myself. I have wanted to start a blog for years now but, quite frankly, I didn’t really know what to write about that anyone would find even remotely interesting. That may still turn out to be the case, but now, as a divorced, empty nester of 56, I feel the need to just take the chance and jump in because I’m only getting older and life is not getting any longer!
In my lifetime I have acquired many interests and hobbies but would probably more accurately fit the “jack of all trades, master of none” category. I considered writing about food and cooking; a life-long love, jewelry-making; something I dabble in now and then, the process of creating handmade soaps, lotions and toiletries; a hobby-turned-business that I once owned, sewing and quilting, my life long love of animals and nature, etc…….the list is long. What you will find instead is a smattering of this and that, past and present. I LOVE to laugh and to make others laugh so you will also find humor here. I have also been through some pretty horrendous trials in my life and may include some tidbits about those as well in an effort to show God’s amazing grace and protection over my life. My hope is that someone may find something in my writing that may help them in some way, whether it be in the healing power of humor, encouragement, validation of one’s emotions or comfort during life’s trials.
It may interest you to know that, by day, I am an RN/Case Manager at an Agency on Aging. I have had no formal training as a writer (no surprise to some of you, I’m sure!) other than my high school English and Journalism classes which I loved and excelled at and a post-college poetry class which I loved and learned alot in. Thanks for checking out my blog and for catching a glimpse of “life through my eyes”.
